Saint Clair Vicar's Choice Sauvignon Blanc
Flavours of passionfruit, grapefruit, and blackcurrant with a salty, chalky minerality.
The vines were pruned using three or four cane vertical shoot positioning (VSP). Each vineyard’s yield is managed appropriately and is dependent upon the ability to ripen clean, quality grapes to their desired flavour spectrum.
The fruit was sourced from vineyards throughout Marlborough, predominantly in the lower Wairau sub-region. The fruit was carefully monitored throughout maturity and was harvested upon reaching optimum flavour development and ripeness. Transported to the winery with haste and pressed off with minimal skin contact, the resulting juice was cool-fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness and varietal flavours.

Saint Clair Vicar's Choice Sauvignon Blanc is a typical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
Lifted aromas of passionfruit, blackcurrant and grapefruit combine with refreshing herbal notes in Saint Clair Vicar's Choice Sauvignon Blanc. Light bodied and fresh with typical Marlborough flavours of passionfruit, stone fruit and grapefruit. A subtle herbaceous thread and mineral notes lead to a long and lingering finish.
Saint Clair has developed six vineyards in different sites in Marlborough, including the Rapaura, Awatere, Waihopai and Omaka Valleys. Only superior fruit from the best locations for each individual variety is selected for the Saint Clair label.
Other factors contributing to wine quality include a sustainable approach with minimal use of vineyard sprays, open canopy with good light and airflow, leaf plucking, fruit and shoot thinning and selection with no cultivation. After harvest the fruit is moved rapidly from vine, to press, to tank and barrel, to preserve fruit quality and character.

Very occasionally, a wine may suffer from cork taint, the unpleasant effects of a faulty closure. Cork taint is more common in bottles with a traditional cork closure, and is recognisable by a damp, rotten wood or rotten cardboard smell. It’s often quite pungent, and immediately detectable when opening a bottle for the first time. If you get a bottle you think is tainted, contact us and we’ll replace the bottle for free within 48 hours or give you a full refund – whichever you prefer.
